Photography, Fashion & Jewelry "ONE STOP"

12:15 PM 0 Comments

Tracey Tomtene
Photography ~ Fashion ~ Jewelry.....

I create and hand stamp metal designs with words and phrases greatly inspired by yoga, the sea, travelling and remaining positive. I hand transfer my travel photography, mostly nature related, into jewelry settings and onto wood blocks (leaving only the ink) and print onto wood, metal and canvas and clothing too!

I can personalize a wood block or photo jewel with your own photo as well as stamp any word or phrase onto my metal designs.

I care very much about the ocean and all its inhabitants and want to be part of the solution to current environmental issues whether it be monetary or by action volunteering my time and living sustainable.

If you'd like to be notified about discounts and promotions and/or read about my travels, sign up for my newsletter below. I send out updates sporadically, erratically and irregularly but definitely not too often;) Your email address will be protected by fierce tigers!

Mona Ledwin ~ Silicone Molds of Antique buttons

About

I am a certified PMC (precious metal clay) and Art Clay Silver instructor and have been teaching about eight years. I make most of my own molds for my students to use in classes. Many of the molds are of antique buttons in my personal collection. My students were always asking to buy my molds so I decided I should open an etsy shop that will include the button molds and other related items.

I also make jewelry and do some lampworking, quilting, enameling, wireworking, beading, and more!

Last Minute Flapper Costume for Under $40

Halloween is clearly the best time of year at Brit + Co. It’s the time when we get to flex our creativity muscles and DIY some of our favorite costumes. From power couple Hillary and Billto Stockholm-syndromed Beauty and the Beast, we’ve got you covered, even those who don’t have time or budget to craft a costume of their dreams.
Check it. This amazing flapper outfit (comprised of this headpiece and this dress) is your new Halloween BFF. Not only is it under $40, but it also is available via Amazon Prime, meaning it gets delivered to your door for FREE in TWO days. Give us your lazy, your poor, your last-minute-Halloween-planning asses… we got you! Add a string of pearls, some sexy shoes and you’re ready to go. The best part about this costume is that you can totally wear it again (New Year’s Eve party, done!). So brush off your dancing shoes and Charleston your way to a night of fun.

This costume is the bee’s knees! It’s enough to make a girl dance and shout.

Look at this dress, tho. Watch how it swings, sways and sparkles!

We are obsessed with this headpiece. It’s the perfect look to bring back the feel of the Roaring Twenties.

The Easiest Way to Make Resin Jewelry

The Easiest Way to Make Resin Jewelry

Buy your Silicone from my shop
Amazing Molds 4 you.

We’ve all seen cool resin pendants at jewelry shops, boutiques, and on fashionistas everywhere. And while we know this is something you can do at home, we weren’t totally down with what seemed like a really complicated process. Well, turns out it is easier than we thought… but still has more steps than most of our tutorials.

If you’ve always wondered if you could make resin jewelry in the comfort of your home, the answer is yes. You just need a few simple tools, all available on our favorite online craft store, Amazon ;)
Materials:
– EasyCast Crafting Epoxy, Clear
– EasyCast Resin Jewelry Mold
– wax paper

– latex gloves

– medicine cups (from cough syrup)

– condiment squeeze bottle

– blow dryer

– wooden popsicle stick

– shoebox or plastic bin (to cover molds as they harden)

– resin fillers: studs, jewelry, dried flowers, feathers, etc

– jewelry items: ring pads, clasps, flat safety pins,

– E-6000 quick hold adhesive (if making rings or pins)

– optional: cheap plastic measuring cup (if doing a large batch)

While you get your “fillers” together, place the resin and hardener bottles in a bowl of hot water.

This helps the resin mix nicely, and helps avoid air bubbles. Be sure to cover your work-space with wax paper – resin does not wash off! Next, get your fillers ready. We came up with all sorts of good stuff to re-purpose, source, print out, and sprinkle for our resin molds.

We’ve got re-purposed jewelry, flowers and twigs found outside, sprinkles (yes, sprinkles!), plastic spiders for Halloween, and, of course, glitter! We also printed out a little Brit + Co. logo and wrote “143” (’90a pager-speak for I Love You) which we mod podged into a bottle cap.

Use your resin mold to organize your fillers. Cut down what you need to so that you can quickly put everything together once you pour the resin.

Now it’s time to mix the resin! If you’re just making one or two pieces, you can use an old cough syrup measuring up to mix one part resin with one part hardener. Mix for two minutes straight and be sure to scrap the sides of your cup often.
